funny funny

A young child says to his mother, "Mom, when I grow up I think I'd like to be a musician."

She replies, "Well honey, you know you can't do both.

I just read about this website on Adam's blog. Wow. I think it is a very good thing. Not to mention intriguing and entertaining.

loaners

Loaners. As in items that do not belong to me. Not Loners, as in what Mike and I were tempted to be this last weekend while at these family events in Denver.

I have a loaner phone and a loaner car right now. I have decided that there must be something weird inside of me that causes these major appendages of my life to not work correctly. It seems like I always have silly little mechanical problems with cars and phones. Currently Smartypants (my cell) is not working. The camera broke and then about a week later the display shut off. Grrrr. Then, last Friday when Tanya was driving my car all the warning lights turned on. This, of course, freaked her out. Totally understandable. Yet it did not freak me out because I have dealt with this already twice with my current car ('05 beetle) and countless times with my previous car ('03 beetle). As much as I love Volkswagens, I do not think I can speak complimentary of them any longer. Nope.

They are doing musical theatre tunes on American Idol tonight. Yay. :-) That makes me happy. It also makes me happy to hear that Constantine was in a touring cast of Rent. It does not make me happy so far that he is the only one so far that seems to have actually even heard a musical theatre song before this show. Also, that they are only doing old-school classic showtunes. So far it's been Babes in Arms, Man of La Mancha, Funny Girl (which is a movie-musical and shouldn't even count!), and Sound of Music. Let's hear some Avenue Q! Or Urinetown! Or even The Producers or Les Mis or Phantom! Oooh! What about Jerry Springer the Opera?! Yeah, that'd be fun on American Idol. :-)

I have a middle-school-aged neighbor who is learning to play drum kit. That also is quite fun...

That's all for now. See ya.

downtown denver

Hi friends. I am in the lobby of my hotel in Denver right now. MY hotel. Isn't it funny how a person becomes so possessive of a place just from staying here four nights. I don't own any bit of this hotel (well, I guess I did contribute $437 to it...) yet I still feel proper in calling it MY hotel. Anyway, tangent.

I am in the lobby because even though this hotel is smack in the middle of downtown Denver, a major metropolis, they don't have internet in the rooms. What?!! How can that be?!

Today I am going home. It's been a very fun and relaxing time here. I flew here with my mum and grandma from home on Thursday and Mike flew in from L.A. on Thursday. So it's a nice little rendevous with my husband! He flew back to L.A. this morning (left the hotel at 4:00 a.m.!!!). I'm here for a wedding of a cousin of mine. It's been a big family reunion-type shindig. Fun, but Mike and I kind of stayed on the outskirts of everything most of the time. Also, I always feel really self-conscious around my extended family. I don't know why. I haven't analyzed myself enough for that. And I'm not going to right now either.

I am scared that this computer is going to kick me off so I'm going to finish this little blog entry for now. Being a lobby computer, it has all these security features, like I can't even cut and paste. Usually as I'm writing blog entries I copy all the text every now and then just in case blogger goes bezerk. Bezerk. I sure do love that word.
